1. Bagda Shrimp: Production of shrimp food has started in the factory since 1990, commercial production of bagda shrimp fry has started in hatcheries since 1992 and availability of shrimp farming equipment has increased the tendency of single and community based shrimp farming among the people in the area. The field of shrimp farming has expanded. Even a decade ago, the production of Bagda Shrimp in this upazila was 3500 MT, which has increased to 5620 MT in 2013. Bagda Shrimp Industry has spread to other areas including Atra Upazila. The Baghdad shrimp business has alleviated the poverty of the people of the area and brought economic success.
2. In the field of agriculture: Among the potential agriculture in Paikgachha upazila, notable agriculture is the cultivation of vegetables and wheat. As fish farming is more prevalent in this upazila, the Department of Agricultural Extension is trying to identify the areas suitable for vegetable cultivation and bring them under vegetable cultivation. In that case, the Department of Agricultural Extension is very successful. Because many farmers are now cultivating vegetables on their own. Wheat is also one of the potential crops in Paikgachha Upazila because in 2012 the amount of wheat cultivation in Paikgachha Upazila was only 60 ha: in 2013 and in 2014 the amount of wheat cultivation in Paikgachha Upazila has increased to 200 ha and 260 ha respectively. :. Our idea is to increase the amount of wheat cultivation in the coming years. There are small nursery centers for making forest and fruit saplings. Livestock Resources: Poultry, quails, pigeons, goats, sheep and cattle have been alleviated and poverty has been alleviated and economic success has been achieved.
